Protecting God's Children

The Diocese of Buffalo mandates that everyone who works or volunteers with children in a Catholic School be trained in recognizing the signs of child abuse.  Teachers, staff, parish staff, and all volunteers are required to take the Protecting God’s Children class and read the monthly bulletins that are sent by email.  If you intend to help at school, chaperone field trips, coach, assistant coach, or interact with our students in any way, you must take the class and keep current with the bulletins.  If you are currently in any of these positions, you must take the class immediately.

You can sign up for the class through the Diocese of Buffalo website: buffalodiocese.org, go to the green box on the left side of the page and click on "Protecting God's Children." Choose a seminar date and location and register on line. When you register, choose Buffalo Diocese and St. Joseph School/University as your location. After you take the class, you will appear on our roster. Periodic checks are made to make sure everyone is in compliance.

If you currently have a Virtus.org account and are having difficulty accessing it, please call Mrs. K. in the school office immediately (835-7395).  Periodically accounts are inactivated or suspended for non-compliance.  These situations can be remedied.

Thank you for your cooperation to keep our children safe!
